GUP at Book Pride Genova 2026: All Events

Once again this year, Genova University Press will be taking part in Book Pride Genova.

Come and visit us from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026 at stand C54 in Palazzo Ducale to discover our publishing projects and attend our events.

During the tenth edition of the fair, GUP will be taking part in the following events.

  • Friday 9 October at 5.00 p.m. – sala della Società Ligure di Storia Patria  
    The Origins of Italian Medieval Archaeology: the Notiziario di Archeologia Medievale (First Series, 1971–1974) 
    Introduced by Silvia Pallecchi (Director of DAFIST, University of Genoa). 
    With contributions from Marco Milanese (University of Sassari), Enrico Zanini (University of Siena) and Fabrizio Benente (University of Genoa).
    The event will also be streamed live on YouTube at the dedicated link.
     
  • Saturday 10 October at 5.00 p.m. – sala del Minor Consiglio 
    How Is Art-Historical Research Changing? A Laboratory of Expertise Bringing Together Archives, Technology and Heritage 
    Taking as its starting point Maria Clelia Galassi’s volume Una disciplina e tre ambiti di ricerca. Scritti scelti di storia dell’arte (1991–2018), the event will guide the audience on a journey from traditional art-historical research to the most innovative methods currently used to study works of art: from archival research and diagnostic investigations to new digital technologies applied to cultural heritage. 
    Opening remarks by Professor Fabrizio Benente (Vice-Rector for Third Mission at the University of Genoa). 
    With contributions from Maria Clelia Galassi, Giacomo Montanari, Manuela Serando and Paolo Triolo.
     
  • Sunday 11 October at 11.30 a.m. – sala Camino 
    From the Archive to the Stage: Eighteenth-Century Women Poets Speak Again 
    Introduction by Matteo Navone (Editor of the GUP series I carteggi di Metastasio. Testi e studi).
    Marco Capriotti, editor of the volume, will discuss with Johnny L. Bertolio (L’ha scritto lei, ma…) the role of research in bringing forgotten women writers back to light and the reasons behind their exclusion from the literary canon. 
    The event will also feature dramatic readings of selected poems by Livia Accarigi and Maria Fortuna, performed by Margherita Calvini and Angela Zinno from ilFalcone Teatro Universitario di Genova.
