Curricular Internships
If you are a student at the University of Genova and would like to gain hands-on experience in the world of publishing, an internship at GUP could be the right opportunity for you.
Every degree programme includes a compulsory curricular internship, with a set number of hours (which varies according to the programme) that will be converted into ECTS credits.
The commitment required is fully flexible, with the option to carry out part of the internship remotely, in agreement with the office.
Curricular internships are open to all students regularly enrolled in a degree programme at any level at the University of Genova.
Before activating your internship you must contact the internship coordinator for your degree programme.
A curricular internship has a maximum duration of 12 months per degree cycle. By consulting the list of partner organisations, you can find out which companies, bodies, or associations have already signed an agreement for curricular internships.
To learn about how to activate your internship please consult the dedicated page on services for businesses.
In addition to the internship opportunities published on the UniGe Internship and Thesis Platform, please also check the Curricular Internship Opportunities section on the dedicated page.
150-Hour Collaboration
Would you like to work with GUP while you study? The University of Genova runs an annual merit-based selection process, open to students enrolled full-time, to draw up a list of eligible candidates for part-time collaboration activities.
Applications for the selection process must be submitted exclusively through the online procedure, accessible via the student web portal, within 30 days of the notice published on the University website. Late applications will not be considered.
You may submit only one application by completing the relevant online form. Once submitted, the form cannot be edited. Upon completion, the system allows you to print your application which serves as thesole proof of submission.
If you are among the selected students, please remember that to accept the offer, you must complete the relevant online form within 45 days of the publication of the list of successful candidates.
If you are interested in collaborating with us, we invite you to visit the dedicated page or contact the Student Contributions and Benefits Office.
Servizio Civile Universale
If you are between 18 and 28 years old, you can apply to become a volunteer and dedicate some months of your life to serving the community.
This experience lasts one year and requires a weekly commitment of 25 hours spread over 5 days. While the time commitment is consistent, it’s possible to balance the volunteering with your studies thanks to flexible hours, the option to work remotely, and leave allowances for university exams.
The benefits of this opportunity include:
- a tax-free monthly allowance
- a certificate of acquired skills that can be used in the job market
- ECTS credits for your degree programme
- possible recognition of the Civil Service experience as a curricular internship
