Il comitato organizzatore e il comitato scientifico di SUPEHR’19 sono lieti di pubblicare gli atti della conferenza “Sustainable PolyEnergy generation and HaRvesting - SUPEHR 2019” svoltasi a Savona (Italia) nel settembre 2019. La conferenza SUPEHR’19 ha riunito industria, mondo accademico e il mondo della ricerca per scambiare esperienze, idee e risultati tecnici sulle tecnologie future per la generazione di energia sostenibile, che comprende l’intera gamma, dalle grandi centrali elettriche al recupero energetico.  
La conferenza ha offerto un’opportunità senza precedenti per le comunità accademiche e industriali di incontrarsi in un ambiente altamente interdisciplinare, per valutare nuove idee, condividere soluzioni innovative e per discutere le future direzioni di ricerca nell’ambito dei grandi impianti di produzione di energia elettrica, così come nei sistemi ibridi e nella poligenerazione. I relatori invitati hanno presentato potenziali applicazioni per una maggiore efficienza nella produzione di energia, sinergie con tecnologie alternative, framework collaborativi tra industria e università, gestione della proprietà intellettuale e altri argomenti che sono riportati in questo testo.  
Esperti, relatori e relatori tecnici di tutto il mondo hanno discusso le tecnologie più promettenti per la generazione di energia convenzionale e rinnovabile, migliorando l’efficienza, la flessibilità, riducendo le emissioni e includendo soluzioni avanzate di stoccaggio dell’energia.  
L’evento è stato aperto a tutti quei professionisti e ricercatori interessati a centrali elettriche, sostenibilità, sistemi ibridi, micro turbine a gas e generazione di polienergia. L’evento è stato una grande opportunità per intensificare la cooperazione internazionale, ampliare le conoscenze e promuovere tecniche e discipline, inclusa l’attenzione al sociale. La diffusione della conoscenza attraverso la presentazione di risultati di ricerca di alta qualità, studi di casi all’avanguardia e nuovi concetti in questo settore è stata la chiave di volta nella preparazione del programma della conferenza.  

The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee of SUPEHR’19 are pleased to publish the proceedings of the “Sustainable PolyEnergy generation and HaRvesting – SUPEHR 2019” Conference held in Savona (Italy) in September 2019. The SUPEHR’19 Conference brought together industry, academia, and research world to exchange experiences, ideas and technical results on future technologies for sustainable energy generation, encompassing the whole range from large power plants to small energy harvesters.  
The Conference provided an unprecedented opportunity for the academic and industrial communities to meet in a highly interdisciplinary environment, to investigate new ideas, to share innovative solutions, and to discuss future research directions in the area power plants, hybrid systems and polygeneration. Invited speakers presented potential applications for enhanced power generation efficiency, synergies with alternative technologies, industry-academia collaborative framework, intellectual property management and others.  
Experts, keynote speakers and technical presenters from all over the world discussed the most promising technologies for conventional and renewable power generation, enhancing efficiency, flexibility, reducing emissions, and including advanced energy storage solutions.  
The event has been open to all those professionals and researchers with an interest in power plants, sustainability, hybrid systems, micro gas turbine and poly-energy generation. The event has been a major opportunity for intensifying International cooperation, expanding knowledge and promoting technical and disciplines, including attention to social awarness. Dissemination of knowledge through the presentation of high-quality research results, state-of-the-art case studies and novel concepts in this area has been the key driver in the preparation of the conference program.

Alberto Traverso is Associate Professor of Energy Systems for Mechanical Engineering. He obtained the Ph.D. in 2004 with the thesis “TRANSEO: A New Simulation Tool for the Transient Analysis of Innovative Energy Systems”. His main field of expertise is the time-dependent analysis of energy systems, including fuel cell hybrid cycles. He is also responsible of WTEMP software development for thermoeconomic analysis of innovative energy systems. He is part of the steering committee at TPG for the Rolls-Royce Fuel Cell Systems Ltd UTC. He has been Point-Contact, Vice-Chair and Chair of the ASME-IGTI Cycle Innovations Committee in 2009-2015. In 2017 he served as ASME Turbo Expo’ vice-Review Chair. Since 2013 he is member of the International Advisory Committee for the Gas Turbine Society of Japan.  

Cecilia Torti, Master in Mechanical Engineering, PhD in Energy System and Fluid Machinery Engineering, has more than 10 years experience in research projects (National FISR projects and European funded projects), both in Academia (University of Genoa) and Industry (Mossi Ghisolfi group), in particular on new generation bio-fuel production. She is currently collaborating with University of Genoa for new experimental laboratory realization and for organising International dissemination events.
